We are delighted to confirm that FIVE new trainees have joined the firm in August (three Graduate Legal Assistants and two Legal Trainees).

In addition to the new cohort, six current trainees are moving on through the ranks.

Here’s everything you need to know, after a busy period at the firm…

The New Recruits

Jack Phillips (left) and Rachel Lam (right) join the firm at trainee level, starting in our Wills & Tax Team in Ringwood and Christchurch respectively. They’ll look to follow in the footsteps of some of our other trainees, completing the LPC.

We are also pleased to welcome three new graduates: Rhys Saidi (left), Regan Cooke (middle), and Dominic Holmes (right).

As Graduate Legal Assistants, the trio will provide assistance and pick up experience in our Commercial Property, Family and Insolvency departments before starting the SQE1 next year.

Trainees moving on

Having now completed the SQE1, and with two training seats under their belts, four of our current trainees are now set to embark on their final year.

Both Zoe Burcombe and Harvey Paveley are set to switch from our Christchurch office over to Ringwood. Zoe is moving to our Family department, where she’ll work alongside Simon Immins and the team, with Harvey finding a place in Commercial Property.

James Privett continues his path down the commercial law route, moving from our Insolvency division to our Corporate & Commercial department, and Katelyn Webster remains personal-service-focused, moving to Conveyancing.

As for our LPC trainees, Sevil Yildirim will take on her third seat in our busy Dispute Resolution department and Justine Mears is set to be a helping hand in our growing Employment team.

Lastly, after completing her legal assistant year, Bethany Pinner is taking her first steps towards the SQE1 as a trainee in our Family team.

Placements

In case you missed it, we also welcomed a new batch of Placement Students earlier this month.

Susie Moore will spend her year assisting our Employment and Insolvency departments, with Isobel Forward helping out in our Conveyancing team, before they both head back to Bournemouth University for their final year.

Matthew Fretten on the new graduates

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Rachel, Jack, Rhys, Regan and Dominic to the firm; all of whom truly have exciting legal careers ahead of them.” said Managing Partner Matthew Fretten.

“Although they join at different stages, some as assistants, others as trainees, they all have the benefit of learning from others at the firm who have gone through the exact same journey as them, which puts them in a fantastic position.

With recruitment at the forefront of our growth strategy, we place a lot of importance on supporting new recruits. The trainee scheme is just one of those support systems, kickstarting the career of our young staff members and providing a varied understanding of law.”

Matthew on our current trainees

“Exciting new recruits aside, a massive congratulations is in order for our current trainees who move on to the next step of the graduate programme.” Matthew continues.

“Zoe, Harvey, Sevil, Katelyn, James, Justine and Bethany have all played important roles in their previous placement departments; and we know this will continue in their third training seats.

Their SQE1 results have been coming in over the past week and have been overwhelmingly positive.”
