Whilst Matthew now spends almost all his time managing the firm he still provides support and advice to the Corporate & Commercial team and their clients as and when required.
In his role as Managing Partner, Matthew has overseen a prolonged period of sustained growth and change at the firm which has seen the headcount more than double and turnover triple in the last 6-7 years. With a particular emphasis on developing a culture and employee focussed environment, reflecting the ambition and values of the firm, the business continues to attract top-tier lawyers and boasts an impressive graduate training programme with the aim of being one of the best places to forge a legal career in the South.
Matthew is an active member of the local business community and sits as a non-executive director and honorary solicitor for the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Life away from work is relatively hectic for Matthew with a busy family life but long dog walks at the beach and in the forest help restore the balance after a busy week. As an optimistic dreamer, he is also bound to follow the trials and tribulations of Southampton FC. When he can find the time, he also enjoys playing the occasional game of golf (and he obviously talks a very good game at the 19th).
