Paul Burton, the Head of our Employment Team has been shortlisted for ‘Lawyer of the Year’ at the prestigious Dorset Legal Awards, Sponsored by QuoStar.
Paul was actually nominated for the award by two of his clients without his knowledge. The shortlist, which contained just three other lawyers, was announced on Wednesday 6th December. The prestigious black tie awards ceremony will be held in the Purbeck Hall at the Bournemouth International Centre on Friday 1st March 2019.
We asked Paul how he felt about being shortlisted. “I am proud to have been shortlisted for the award. The fact that it was a couple of my clients who nominated me made it that extra bit special, as I believe building good client relationships and delivering a personal service is at the heart of everything we do at Frettens. There are some great lawyers in Dorset, so I feel I am in very good company on a shortlist of just four. I look forward to attending the awards dinner in March.”
Managing Partner, Matt Fretten said, “Paul has been a valuable and much-loved member of our team for almost ten years now, and is very popular with his clients and colleagues, so I was not at all surprised to hear he was nominated for this award. He is very knowledgeable, as many regular attendees of his Employment Law Seminars will tell you, but he communicates this knowledge extremely well to his clients, which is something we believe is extremely important at Frettens.”
Paul will now be ‘mystery shopped’ in December and have an interview with the judging panel in January.
He will be joined by his colleagues at the Frettens table at the awards dinner in March, where he will hopefully be celebrating a win. Everyone at Frettens has their fingers crossed for him!
Frettens have also been shortlisted for Firm of the Year at the Dorset Legal Awards.
