Frettens Commercial Team recently acted on behalf of AFC Bournemouth Limited in relation to the recent investment in the club by Russian businessman Maxim Demin, who became co-owner of the football club with the current Chairman, Eddie Mitchell.
The football club is a long-standing client of the Frettens Commercial Team and the latest investment in the club involved the exit of two of the club’s shareholders, Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly, who both retain their position on the board.
The deal attracted a large amount of press coverage and was subject to tight time-scales and a considerable amount of detailed negotiation between the interested parties. Chief Executive of the club, Neill Blake, commented, “Matthew and his team at Frettens reacted quickly and pragmatically to the considerable commercial pressures involved in putting this deal together which has helped secure what is a very positive future for the football club. Adding real commercial value to the deal, we are delighted to count Frettens as an important part of our team going forward.”
Frettens Partner Matthew Fretten heads the firm’s Commercial Team. He said “Frettens are delighted to continue to represent AFC Bournemouth and it is a privilege to bring together a deal which helps our local football club to take a positive financial step forward. We look forward to continuing to support the club and its board and we wish the team every success for the rest of the season!”
