Sexual Harassment Workshop

This session will explore sexual harassment under the Equality Act and how it applies to different protected characteristics.

Join Frettens Employment Team for a Sexual Harassment Workshop at the Captains Club Hotel & Spa in Christchurch. In the session, we will consider the definition of harassment, including sexual harassment, under the Equality Act and review how it might apply in relation to the different protected characteristics.

Through the use of real examples and targeted discussion points we will focus on:

  • preventing harassment in the workplace
  • the "reasonable steps" defence, and
  • considering how to deal with a complaint of harassment

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming mandatory duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace and to discuss options to demonstrate your compliance.

We will also introduce a series of case studies for delegates to interpret and discuss openly alongside some practical advice and top tips on making your own workplaces a safe space for all employees.

And finally, with the election on 4th July, just a couple of days after this event, the parties have now all released their manifestos including proposals for changes to employment and equally legislation.

During the seminar, Chris will briefly explore what the major parties have proposed for changes to employment and equality law which may impact on you and your business.

Arrival is from 9am for a 9:30am start.  The session will conclude with a buffet lunch around 12:15pm and opportunity to network and ask any questions to our Employment Team.
